Kenya is the largest exporter of tea in the world. The tropical climate and volcanic soil in the highlands of the Rift Valley are ideal for growing tea. About 60% of the teas produced in Kenya are by small scale farmers.
Known mostly for its black teas, Kenya also produces prized green, oolong and even white teas. Kenyan teas have a bold flavour and produce a full-bodied cup. Kenya has introduced the world to the newest tea type: Purple Tea
